Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wins the NNS Championship; Regan Smith wins the Ford Ecoboost 300

After grabbing the lead with 15 laps to go, Regan Smith would win the Ford Ecoboost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway for his first ever Nationwide Series victory. Meanwhile, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. would finish sixth to win the driver's championship for the second straight season. ?It?s really neat,? Stenhouse said. ?These guys are the ones that do it all the time. It?s really cool to be up here, to drive these racecars for Jack Roush, Ford, Roush-Yates. Everybody that helps us with this is just incredible.? Stenhouse would race hard in the final laps, battling the handling of his Ford, keeping himself out of trouble, including a close call with Austin Dillon, to win the championship, 23 points over Elliott Sadler. ?I wasn?t concerned,? Stenhouse said of the final laps. ?We were loose, we?ve had loose cars be for. We made some adjustments; I was questioning how far on the adjustments we went. We obviously went a little too far.? It also marks the second straight championship for crew chief Mike Kelley. ?It means the world to me and all these guys behind me that we stuck together through the tough times and worked hard, and we?ve had some good times together,? Kelley said. ?In 2010 sitting there for rookie of the year, Ricky pointed up there and said ?I want to sit up there?. Last year, we said we never wanted to sit down there.?
